Syapse uses data from a global oncology network to drive new approaches to cancer care. As Principal Product Designer my role spanned UX research, design systems creation, UI design execution, and design advocacy.

Syapse was struggling with an old, outdated user interface design direction. The company was transitioning from a custom-install model to a cloud-based model, and needed a visual and functional design refresh to allow the product to grow.
My first priority was to introduce a clean, flexible, evolving UI design system that could grow and evolve with the product. I led an initiative to put in place a clean, well structured, usable design system. Based on the Ant UI framework, I built a Figma component library that the design team now uses to construct consistent layouts that can easily be updated as needed.
Working with Engineering teams, Product Managers, Executives and other stakeholders, the design team uses the design system to quickly explore and deliver design solutions. Using Figma allows for quick and easy prototyping and hand-off to front end developers.
Some examples below:
The impact of introducing a design system has allowed Syapse to consistently and quickly execute product features. Where it was previously a complex, one-off process, it is now simple and relatively effortless.
